Abstract:

Given a smooth projective toric variety and an ample line bundle, I will explain how one can use Mikhalkin's tropical techniques to construct the Lagrangians which are mirrors to powers of the chosen line bundle, and verify a piece of the homological mirror conjecture. Time permitting, I will outline work in progress to extend these ideas to a quasi isomorphism of A^{\infty} categories between the category of line bundles on a smooth toric variety and a certain category of Lagrangians sections of the mirror.
