Deformation Quantization studies the passage from classical to quantum systems. There are currently two approaches to construct deformation quantizations. The original solution by M. Kontsevich uses techniques from physics. A later solution by D. Tamarkin uses techniques from homological algebra. I will describe some results that clarify the relation between these approaches to some extend.
