We will begin by discussing line bundles, divisors, and linear systems on algebraic curves, as well as several moduli spaces associated to them. We will continue from there by discussing moduli stacks of vector bundles on curves, and other variants such as the Drinfeld and Laumon compactifications of B-bundles and the moduli of Higgs bundles. This should also hopefully serve as an informal introduction to algebraic stacks.
