The "calculus" that I will talk about is a way of analyzing functors, say from the category of topological spaces to itself, that preserve (weak) homotopy equivalence. It takes its name from an analogy with differential calculus (a way of analyzing functions). I will offer various glimpses of the subject, both the general theory and some striking applications.
