I will report on work in progress with Braunling, Wolfson, Zakharevich which uses the theory of assemblers to produce a refined version of motivic integration. We will start by briefly reviewing the classical theory, including the transformation formula. In the second half we will explain how the theory of assemblers can be used to produce a homotopic refinement of motivic integration and the transformation rule.
