We will talk about the rigidity phenomenon of smooth actions on a compact manifold with hyperbolicity by higher rank lattices such as SL_{3}(Z) following the philosophy of the Zimmer program. In the talk, we will see 1) rigidity of Anosov actions on closed n manifolds by lattices in SL_{n}(R) and 2) Nonuniform measure rigidity of positive entropy actions on closed n manifolds by lattices in SL_{n}(R) (work in progress with Aaron Brown).
