Abstract:
We suggest a new way to construct special functions using intertwining operators between representations of Lie groups (or Lie algebras, quantum groups, affine Lie algebras...) This generalizes the classical approach and gives a number of interesting special functions, including Macdonald's polynomials, Lame functions, etc. This also allows us to prove easily a number of properties of these functions.Date: Friday, November 14, 1997
